St Rita's Medical Center

Located in Lima Ohio, St. Rita’s Medical Center was specified to be built with 2G by Ellerbe Beckett. The engineer's goals were to achieve a 2 hour fire rated system that would fit in a very confined space. 2G was the only product on the market that fit the bill. The engineer, hood and fan supplier and the Metal-Fab Rep worked closely together with the GC and Mechanical Contractor to ensure that product was delivered on time and the installation was completed without delays or glitches.

A Culinary Institute Kitchen

The building in which this culinary school’s kitchen is located, was designed with no forethought for venting cooking vapors or the need for grease duct. Once the error was discovered the building owners began looking for a solution. The duct would be completely exposed to view and so one of the factors for choosing the duct was aesthetics. 4G with a 304 stainless steel outer casing was chosen to provide a high tech look and easy to maintain duct surfaces. 0” clearance to combustibles and less heat radiating into the room were also factors.

Wal-Mart

Since 2003, Wal-Mart Store Inc has specified 4G for all of its brand stores. 4G has maintained a perfect safety record and there are no complaints due to system leaks. Some of the factors in Wal-Mart’s decision to specify 4G factory-built grease duct are:
